Year 2 - 1995
Growing my career at Officeworks.
- Name: Julie Priscoglio
- Role: Project Manager
- Location: Support Office, East Bentleigh
- Joined Officeworks: 1995
I first joined Officeworks in May 1995, at the Fitzroy store as a part time team member working at point of sale. And I’m currently in the store development team, working as a project manager.
I love working at Officeworks because of the people. You spend most of your day at work and the people can really make or break it. And for me, it’s always been the people here that make Officeworks what it is.
My favourite memory is signing my contract on a milk crate at the back of the Fitzroy store. I was hired at the last minute as someone decided not to take the job! And I’m still here!
For me, the biggest change in the past 24 years was when we changed the store racking (shelving) from blue to white. It really changed the whole look and feel of our stores.
And my biggest highlight was being appointed into my first management role.
Working at Officeworks has provided so many opportunities for growth and development. In the past 24 years I’ve experienced so many parts of the business - I started in 1996, at the Fitzroy store, before moving to work at the Maribyrnong and Geelong stores as each of them opened. In 1997, I was appointed the receiving manager for Geelong before moving over to become the customer service manager at the Maribyrnong and then Fitzroy stores.
In October 1998, I was appointed to the role of merchandise manager for our Highett store, and then between 1999 and 2002, I was merchandise manager at Richmond and then at Chadstone, before being appointed the store manager at Werribee, which at that time was a new store - such a responsibility!
I moved across store manager roles at our Campbellfield, Elsternwick, Doncaster and Fitzroy stores before moving to the Support Office in 2008, to become a project coordinator, and then in 2011, I was promoted to project manager within the store development team.
