I started working at Officeworks on June 1st, 2009, initially in the technology department in a customer service role. I then worked in the furniture department, followed by some time in receiving. I currently work as part of the replenishment team.
The best part of working at Officeworks is working with a great team, who all work well and communicate effectively together. We will also catch up outside of work as well, which helps bring the team closer together.
It’s fantastic that Officeworks provides avenues for career development. There are opportunities for professional development, and I’ve been assisted with my personal career development. For example, my store manager has assisted me with my university studies, providing me with ‘real world’ insight, which coincides well with the theory taught at uni.
The highlight of my time here has been our store becoming the number one store for sales in the SA region. It’s a real feeling of accomplishment.
The biggest changes I’ve seen have been in our product mix. There has been an increase in technology products such as 3D printers and drones. The store layout has also changed providing improved merchandising plans to cater for the increase in products available.
I was really thrilled when I received my pin for five years of service, and look forward to achieving more!
