I work at Officeworks Lismore, mostly in stationery and replenishment on weeknights. On the weekend I am a people greeter or at point of sale.

I love our team they are like a second family. They really do care about each other and our customers. They are fun to be around but also very professional to work with. I love that we are focused on safety as a whole so I feel like it is a safe place to work.

I also love that our company is constantly striving to improve our customer offer and moves with the times through innovation and ideas.

I know that we are actively listening to our customers and then determining a great solution for them based on what would best suit their situation. What we choose for them is not always what we would choose for ourselves.

I love that we make friends and we help people, and that I have been able to be with the one store for 12 years. It is amazing watching how it has changed, and I still enjoy it as much as when I started in 2007.

Most of all I love that we are honest, trustworthy and offer a wide range, low prices and great service to our customers. Without our customers I would not have a job! I am always so grateful that I can come to work in a place where I feel really welcome and a place that I can be proud of.

It sounds strange, but my best memory of my time at Officeworks was last year. I got really sick, right in the middle of our store refit, and the way that the store leadership team and my peers handled it made me feel special. I required major surgery and six weeks off work and they all were amazing and I have always been extremely grateful for their care and understanding during a very difficult time. They made me feel like that was a moment that mattered.

I love the way that our community all rallied together to help when the big flood came through a couple of years ago. There were people who lost everything and we had a lot of furniture that needed replacing in businesses and homes. I saw the community working together to clean rubbish, paint strangers houses and it was hard not to shed a tear just talking to the customers about how much they had lost.

It brought the community together and showed that kindness is still there in times of hardship, and it gave us all a great appreciation for what we have.

I really enjoy it when the customers say hello to me outside of work. It feels nice that they remember me and it makes me smile. I like it even more when I remember them.

I think overall it is the best job I have ever had, I feel very happy to be here at Officeworks Lismore.
