Noise-cancelling headphones are an essential accessory for both work and play, taking you from your morning workout to your commute, and through a day at the office to your journey home. But which pair to pick? We asked Sydney-based video editor Krishna Viswanathan to test the JBL Tune 760NC Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones and put them through their paces. Here’s what he thought…
Unboxing the JBL Tune 760NC Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Inside the box, you’ve got the 760NC headphones, a USB-C charger, an auxiliary cable to connect to your device of choice as well as your manual and warranties.
My first impression when I saw these wireless headphones is that they’re a really good build. They’re firm and sturdy, and the padding is amazing. The buttons feel very tactile – I like that.

Getting Started
To get started, I’m going to give them a charge. The battery should last 35 hours if I keep the noise cancelling on (and 50 if I don’t), so I’ll see how it goes.
When pairing your headphones with your device via Bluetooth, you can actually connect to two different devices simultaneously. That's a special feature of these JBL headphones. It means you can seamlessly switch between watching a video on your laptop to taking a call on your phone.
The Bluetooth connection process is really simple. Basically, you open up your device’s Bluetooth settings and ensure it’s in pairing mode. Now press the power button on your headphones and hold it down for two seconds. You should hear a sound and see your headphones pop up as an option on your pairing screen. Tap on it and it should connect in a matter of seconds.
Comfort and Versatility
I’ve been wearing these noise-cancelling headphones to work, to play basketball and to ride my longboard. I’ve also been listening to music and podcasts. And I have to say, even after long hours of usage, they never feel uncomfortable. The padding on the ear cups is insane, it’s so soft and comfortable. It even feels great to wear them around my neck.
I found these wireless headphones very light but still very durable. They also fold up, so they’re compact, flexible and lightweight when you need to stash them in your backpack.

Sound Quality
When it comes to video editing, sound plays a very crucial role. That’s why my choice of headphones is so important. When I’m editing videos, I can be a perfectionist. I want to hear those subtle details and I want to see if the sound is crisp and clean.
These JBL Tune 760 Headphones have impressive sound quality with a deep and powerful bass. By pressing the noise-cancelling button, I can tune out background noise and focus in on my work, both indoors and outdoors.
Other Helpful Features
I love that these bluetooth headphones connect to multiple devices so I’m able to multitask. The hands-free features are really great – there are buttons on the ear cup that let you manage phone calls and control your sound.
For me, long battery life in headphones is really important. I’m always on the go with my work – sometimes I’m shooting for two days in a row and need to test audio on the field, then the next day I have to edit. It means I don’t get much time to charge my headphones, so the long battery life is so useful.
The Verdict
I can’t actually say any bad things about these headphones, they’re perfect for my lifestyle. They have a long battery life, great sound quality, they’re comfortable, I can wear them for long hours and they’re noise cancelling. Perfect!
