Haribo is a German confectionery company founded by Hans Riegel Sr in Kessenich, Bonn. The name is an acronym formed from Hans Riegel Bonn and the company created the first gummy confectionary in 1922 in the form of little gummy bears called Gummibärchen. With current headquarters is in Grafschaft, Germany, Haribo is now available in more than 100 countries around the world, is produced in 16 locations worldwide, and employs more than 7,000 people in total.
